There is a sort of mass hysteria being passed around on the neighborhood social network about hawks and owls carrying off pets. Sheesh. They whip one another up into a frenzy, and I suspect even make up stories to add fuel to the fire, like one person who said she had to fight a bird off with a stick as it tried to snatch her dog while she was walking it on a leash. Of all the things to be afraid of, this one does not rate. It’s like Donald Trump and immigrants on a smaller scale.
