Theres a high cold sky, a bright moon, and shadows in the snow this morning.
On a walk later, at work, I saw fishermen harvesting trout out of Jefferson Lake- the first of February they’re allowed to keep them instead of throwing them back in. Also heard a kingfisher chattering down the river. And tonight as I left work just before 6, the sky was red with sunset and thousands of crows were flying in to roost in trees near the hospital and across Kingshighway in the park. Thousands and thousands, mostly silent, they looked like silent black graffiti in the wind.
