If today’s torrential rain is any indication of the new normal, we’ll have to dig alot more rain garden! It’s there at the back of the yard, overflowing. Also overflowing was the River Des Peres, essentially a drainage ditch that collects storm runoff. Usually it is just a big gully with a trickle in the bottom. Today it was almost out of its banks, and we saw a discombobulated groundhog trying to find cover, having been chased out of his burrow by the rain.
