River snow

This morning I stopped in the park to look at all the snow. When I came to the river place I was the first person to walk in that snow- I hated to mess it up but at the same time was glad to be the first. It was odd hearing all the spring sounds with all that snow on the ground. Mr. Red-Wing was calling and fluffing out his epaulets. The kingfisher was chattering busily, a wren sang. The big old elm looked especially beautiful in the snow. What a lovely gift at the end of winter.
