Possum up a ‘simmon tree

Possum up a ‘simmon tree,
Raccoon on the ground.
Raccoon say “You son-of-a-B,
throw them ‘simmons down!”

Dennis recalled this verse, one of his Grandfather’s (The Bard of the Ozarks) when I remarked all the persimmons left in the persimmon trees at the arboretum, all rotten or dried up.
