Crescent moon

It’s a busy time, and I like to take stock of what’s truly important, lest I get carried away by the push and rush of my own deadlines and others’ busy-ness. As I sit here at the window I hear wrens and flickers in the yard, and this morning there were many robins drinking from the birdbath. I’ve seen them in flocks lately, migrating the short distance to their wintering places.  Here are Dennis and Britches yesterday morning. Cooler weather makes friendly cats.

And here is the crescent moon last night, through the sycamore in the back yard. The autumnal equinox is today.

This afternoon is the neighborhood block party. It will be a welcome break to visit with neighbors and watch the children play.
