I took a walk just now, despite the 100 degree temperature, ’cause I just finished a bunch of administrative chores and needed an outside break and am tired of being held hostage to the heat. Probably not very smart, though. The critters know what they’re doing and no one was out. Not a turtle or a frog on a log or even floating just beneath the water like they sometimes will do. The martins were nowhere to be seen. I hope they have moved to cooler climes, or maybe they have somewhere cool to hang out during the day. I bet their house is uninhabitable and likely killed any eggs or young that couldn’t move. The
landscape is just brown. I did see a bunch of tunnel spider webs in the brown grass. And ducks hanging out in the shade near the water. Not much other life, though. I don’t like this at all.
