The Fox and the Falcon

If that’s not the name of a myth or a children’s book, it should be! I drove through the park for the first time this week just now, after a workshop I’ve attended let out. And I saw, just opposite the lake, a fox! A fox just outside the woods edge, eating something, so intent on whatever it was that he/she didn’t notice my car and one other that had stopped to see him- a man in a black Lexus in front of me. And me without my camera! But the fox trotted quickly back into the woods before either of us could have gotten to our cameras, anyway. What brought him out in the daytime, I wonder? And then I saw the falcon who lives on the hospital soaring around while I was stopped at a light. What a treat after spending the whole week inside!
