Egg laying at the Garden

I wandered away from a reception at the Botanical Garden this evening, where I was trying to do the “network” thing, a practice that requires much diligence on my part as I am definitely not a natural. Anyway, so I wandered away for awhile, into the Japanese Garden, where I saw a turtle laying her eggs on a hillside. I have seen this now! She worked her back feet, digging a hole for the eggs, I imagine, then rested, then started up again. I watched for half an hour- I wonder if this takes several hours? An idyllic place, the garden at night when no one else is there. Quiet and beautiful.
