Rode my bike to work this morning. Here’s today’s riding mantra comprised of things I saw while riding (photos to follow when I get home tonight):

linden, locust, horses, traffic, geese, squirrel, martins, red wing, egret

The smell of linden flowers, followed quickly by locust in bloom just a few yards down the path-

Horses in the mounted police stable by the highway, with the accompanying traffic sounds-

Geese flying over Highway 40-

Squirrel crossing the path in front of me with a big nut in his mouth-

Purple martins in their house, getting ready for aerobatic bug-catching-

A male redwing calling (haven’t seen a female yet, but surely they’re here, probably sitting on nests-

Egret! First I’ve see this year
