Missing a slow spring

The black locust trees are blooming! They usually bloom in May-June. And the wild cherry trees are in bloom, they’re not quite as early as usual but early nonetheless. While it is a beautiful spring, I feel cheated with everything happening so fast. I like a slower unfolding, it seems more magical to me somehow, and it’s more fulfilling to appreciate one little change at a time. This fast one-bloom-on-top-of-another just feels like a trick to me. I will enjoy it, surely, but I still miss a slower spring.
